I promised to post some free patterns in the coming months and so far I’m keeping my word! I made this purse for my daughter. She loves to coordinate her accessories with her outfits, which is why this purse is so cool! You can create a bunch of flowers in various colours to pop over the button.

What you will need
Here is what you will need to make this adorable purse:
- A size H (5 mm) crochet hook
- Worsted Weight Yarn in a few colours
- Measuring tape
- Yarn Needle
For the purse in the photo above, I used Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice Yarn in a variety of colours.
Row 1: [1SC, 1DC] in second ch from hook, *skip next ch, [1SC, 1DC] in next ch; rep from * to end of the row. Ch1 and turn.
Row2: *Skip 1st stitch, [1SC, 1DC] in next stitch; repeat from * to end of the row. Ch1 and turn.
Repeat Row 2 until work measures 9 inches. For the next row, we will make the button loop hole in the centre of the row as follows:
*Skip 1st stitch, [1SC, 1DC] in next stitch; repeat from * 6 times.
Chain 3, skip 2 stitches.
*Skip one stitch, [1SC, 1DC] in next stitch; repeat from * 6 times.
Fasten off. This is the body of your purse and should measure just over 9 inches.
To create the pocket of the purse, attach yarn at the bottom of your work (i.e. the foundation chain).
Row 1: *Skip 1st stitch, [1SC, 1DC] in next stitch; repeat from * to end of the row. Ch1 and turn.
Repeat Row 1 until work measures 5 inches. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Fold this 5 inch section over and sew up the sides (see photo above).
Attach a large button at the centre of the purse being careful to place it where the loophole will fasten.
Now that you have made the actual purse, the next step is the strap.
To make the strap, chain 90.
[1SC, 1DC] in second ch from hook, *skip next ch, [1SC, 1DC] in next ch; rep from * to end of the row. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach the strap to the inside corners of the purse.
My favourite part about this purse is the interchangeable flowers that fit over the button. In whatever colour you like, follow these steps to make as many flowers as you would like!
CH 6. Slip stitch into first ch to form a ring.
*CH3, 3 TC into ring, CH3, slip stitch into ring. Repeat from * 4 times. Fasten off and weave in ends.
