Today’s post is all about finding the perfect project bag.  If you love to knit and crochet on the go, then a great bag to tote around and organize your materials is essential.  You will find a great bag not only keeps you organized, but it will also protect your yarn and keep your materials safely stowed away.

I’ve put together a list of the hottest project bags on the market and highlighted some of their best features to help you in your search for that perfect bag to carry your knitting or crochet on the go.

Ammee’s Large TotoBag Yarn Dispenser

What I love the most about this adorable looking bag is that it is also a yarn dispenser.  This is great for anyone with pets since it’s not only a super stylish bag for carrying your projects on the go, but it will also protect your yarn from picking up pet hairs (or being attacked by one of your furry little friends).

I also think its pretty cool that these bags are hand made in Totonicapan using traditional designs that are handed down throughout the generations of Mayan people.

This bag can be purchased online from amazon.com.

Yarn Pop Double Knitting Bag

These knitting project bags are just too cute!  They come in a variety of designs but the owl is my favourite.  This little bag is just perfect for smaller projects like socks or mittens and is the perfect size to just throw into your everyday bag.

The bag posted here is the double knitting bag which has a spot for each skein so that you can keep your yarn organized.  There is also a single skein version available, and you can find them both on amazon.com.

Knit Picks Tote Bags

If you are into the organic lifestyle, this is the bag for you.  Knit Picks project tote bags are made from 100% organic cotton.  This bag is described as being huge, which is awesome for if you are knitting or crocheting a throw, baby blanket, sweater, or other large project.

The bag is pretty basic however (no pockets or compartments), so I would recommend purchasing smaller pouches to keep your tools, yarn, and work separate.

Knit Picks tote bags are available for purchase online at www.knitpicks.com

Everything Mary Yarn Tote

This super pretty and durable bag is perfect for keeping you organized on the go.  I love how it has two exterior side pockets to keep your tools separate from your work.  Plus its just so pretty and spacious, it could double as a purse!

You can purchase this cute bag online from amazon.com

Everything Mary Deluxe Knitting Tote

Another bag by Everything Mary, this deluxe tote is great for larger projects.  It has one large main compartment and several pockets to hold your skeins and tools.

I can see myself using this project bag in the house as well, just to keep all my materials together and organized in one place.

The Everything Mary Deluxe Tote can be found on www.amazon.com as well

JanetBasket Cherry Eco Bag

Also available on amazon.com, the JanetBasket Cherry Eco Bag claims to be the ultimate project tote.  Some of its features are excellent durability, large pockets, large interior and metal supports enabling the bag to be opened without collapsing.  This looks to me like the perfect bag for travel since its sturdiness will protect your tools and materials.

Bergere de France Iridescent Bag

knitting-project-bag-2

This gorgeous tote bag features compartments such as a magazine sleeve, which I love for keeping patterns as well as yarn and tools together.  The silver colour is gorgeous for all of you fashionistas out there looking for something stylish and functional.

You can purchase this bag from Loveknitting.com which ships worldwide.  They also have a huge yarn selection!

And that completes my list.  I’m sure there are a few more great knitting project bags out there that I have yet to come across.  I would love to hear from you to add more to my list if you know of another gorgeous bag that I have not yet found online.
