I thought it would be helpful to create this online resources page. I’ll add to it as I discover more great knitting and crochet related sites, and I will likely refer to this page often in my blog posts.

Learning to Knit
Craftsy Knit Lab: This is an online class that teaches new knitters the basics: choosing supplies, casting on, knitting, purling and binding off. Learn how to increase, decrease, make a buttonhole, knit lace, block, seam and read patterns. I love Craftsy’s online classes because you can keep referring back to the lessons.
New Stitch a Day Knitting 101: This site has a few great video knitting tutorials for basic stitches and casting on and off methods.
Learning to Crochet
Crochet Basics: This class teaches you the stitches, tools and techniques you need to get started with crochet. It includes step-by-step instruction for getting started — from selecting the right yarn to properly holding your hook.
New Stitich a Day Crochet 101: This site has a few tutorial to teach the basic crochet stitches (slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet).
Yarn and Materials
This section includes a listing of where I buy my yarn and knitting/crochet supplies:
Knit Picks: I love the quality and affordability of Knit Picks Yarns and I know you will too. Knit Picks is my first choice when I decide that I want to add to my yarn supply.
LoveKnitting: Another great online yarn store. Love Knitting is a great choice if you are looking for a specific brand of yarn. They have the largest yarn selection that I have seen so far online.
Craftsy Yarn Store: Craftsy also sells yarn online. They carry some of the more common brands and often have amazing sales.
