Easy Crochet Top Pattern

I hope you guys are enjoying your summer so far! Since we are in for a few months of hot temperatures, I thought it would be fun to share a crochet crop top pattern with you guys. I designed this v-neck top to be loose fitting, as is the style these days, and most importantly, easy! I know that not everyone feels comfortable wearing crop tops, so I want you to know that you can always just add rows to the midriff section to make it longer – it will still make a beautiful summer top!

Design and Construction:

As I’d mentioned above, I really wanted to make a top that is easy for all skill levels. If you are fairly new to crochet, you’ll be happy to know that this is definitely a project you can handle. I have made a video tutorial to walk you through the making of this top, which you can find on the Leelee Knits YouTube channel, as well as below on this page with the pattern.

In addition to being easy to make, this loose fitting top is designed to be flattering to most body types. The extra roomy front and back panels are identical and joined together at the shoulder and side seams. Each panel is constructed from the bottom up, so that you can get the hang of working with the stitch pattern before shaping the underarm and neckline.

Sharing is Caring!

I hope you enjoy this pattern as much I did creating it! Please feel free to share the link to this page on your social media or Pinterest account.

I truly appreciate all of you who get the word out about this site and my patterns!

XoXo,
Alnaar

Yarn Choice:

Once again, I have chosen to use Knit Picks CotLin DK weight yarn. This yarn is perfect for summer garments in my opinion. I love the soft, natural texture of CotLin, and I honestly haven’t found a cotton yarn that can compare as far as the colour palette goes.

Example of completed panel for size Small.

Assembly:

Lay one panel on top of the other, with the right sides together.  This stitch is the same on both sides, but if you’ve weaved in your ends on one side, then that would be your wrong side.

Join the panels together at the shoulder and side seams, using a whip stitch.

Trim:

With the top inside out, join yarn at centre back (the front and back are the same, so you can just decide which side is the back) of the bottom into foundation chain. CH1.

Round 1: SC in same ch as where you joined the yarn, and in each ch all the way around; join to first sc with SS; CH2. Total SC: 128(136,144,152,160).

Round 2: HDC in same sc, and in each sc all the way around; join to first hdc with SS.  Fasten off.

Weave in all loose ends and enjoy your crop top!
